Stupid people
My dad has this idea, see. He says that everyone should be given three darts to keep in the car. Not scary, pointy darts, but little suction cup darts that say "dumbass" inside the suctiony part (his idea, not mine). The idea is that, while you're driving around, doin your own thing, if some car next to you or whatever does something really stupid, you can throw your dart at him. Then, the guy will know he's a dumbass. And also, whenever a cop is driving around and he sees some car with 5 or 6 little darts on it, he can just pull it over and give it a ticket for being stupid.
It's a good idea.
But I have a better one. I want those for the library. I come here to study, to concentrate. Because it's supposed to be quiet. And so I always go to somewhere where no one is anywhere near me. And today, for instance, this entire wall is empty of people. A girl comes and sits at the desk RIGHT next to mine. There are like 15 little cubicles on this wall, and she picks the one next to me. And she's talking on the phone. And not just once, she's gotten like 5 phone calls. Ok and then her friend came over to talk to her. WTF, mate. If I had a dart, I would so stick it up her nose.

Ode to my Dad #2
My dad is still a cool guy. If you don't believe me, read my entry from Friday December 27, 2002. Still don't believe me? Read this conversation I had with him once:
A funny convo I had with my dad today:
Me: Where were you today?
Dad: I went shopping for an answering machine.
Me: Don't we already have one of those?
Dad: Yes, but it makes loud humming noises. That means it's about to blow up. I thought we'd get a new one.
See. He's funny. He picked me up from the airport Friday. The entire way home we discussed comparative advantage. At first I thought he was quizzing me because I told him I want to major in it. See, my dad doesn't like to volunteer, and he supports that position by informing me that really, by him volunteering, he's HURTING society. It would be better, he says, if he did his own job, because he's good at it, and just gave a fence-builder 10 bucks to build a bench. If everyone did what they were good at instead of the "right thing," which is really the wrong thing, then they wouldn't waste so much time and a guy who's actually good at building fences could have built TWO!
Anyway. He also likes the kid Matt I hang out with because Matt is majoring in accounting. And that's what I'm supposed to major in, because my dad's an accountant and my brother is majoring in accounting. So, based on my dad's logic, if I like to hang out with Matt, then I would like having classes with Matt, ,who's taking accounting classes. That means I'll enjoy accounting classes, since they're with Matt, and eventually I'll want to change my major to accounting. We'll see, Dad.
My dad is fun. He races cars and buys RVs. He wants a pick up truck. He tells really bad jokes, just like me. I like him.
Golden Slumbers- The Beatles
Once there was a way to get back homeward
Once there was a way to get back home
Sleep pretty darling do not cry
And I will sing a lullabye
Golden slumbers fill your eyes
Smiles awake you when you rise
Sleep pretty darling do not cry
And I will sing a lullabye
Once there was a way to get back homeward
Once there was a way to get back home
Sleep pretty darling do not cry
And I will sing a lullabye

A letter to the editor in the Trinity campus newspaper:
Dear Editor,

Nummber of American and Coalition force casualties since the beginning of the war in Iraq: 1183 (source: http://icasualities.org/oif/). Number of Iraqi civilian casualties: 14, 997 (maximum), 12,943 (minimum) (source: http://www.iraqbodycount.net/database/). Number of weapons of mass destruction (WMDs) found: 0. Mr. Bush, the pro-life candidate?
